The UN and Amnesty International have cited Hattieville as a monument to human rights violation. Perhaps you should apprise them of your glowing tribute to Hattieville as a model for criminal rehabilitation.
I am shocked to read Dr. Herbert Gayle’s recent assessment of Hattieville Central Prison. He said, “The Kolbe Foundation runs the best prison I have seen in my life.”. I think this would be a very shocking assessment to human trafficking victims who were sent to Hattieville on trumped up immigration charges.
Every day the fine people of Belize loose family members falling into a corrupt court system that leaves family members sitting for years in REMAND in Hattieville. Did you see that Dr. Gayle as part of your research?
Under the laws of Belize every person has the right to legal representation. Not, if you do not have money you are doomed for in many cases sitting for years in remand at Hattieville. You just give up, your family gives up. You are lost to the income needs of the Kolbe Foundation.
I would suggest you Visit the Prison and stay for a night, your views will change. Well that depends on who is paying you to talk.
All you are is an insult to Belize and a Paid Puppet of the Corruption of the Kolbe Foundation.
