My name is James Jensen I am a Canadian that lived in Belize with my wife Janis. We were retired and moved to Central America and Belize to begin our new life.
A lot has been published about me on line in Belize either as James Jensen, Jim Jensen or James Fredrick Jensen. I have for the most part ignored these comments. Comments made as here say never with supporting documents of proof. Thus I decided to tell my story about the life of Jim Jensen and my wife Janis Jensen in Belize. Jan and I decided to make a change in our life and moved to Belize started on the Island of San Pedro in Belize. We had sold a successful restaurant operation in Wisconsin and decided a change was in order. We purchased a small local Liquor business called the Liquor Box in downtown San Pedro. A small shop a mere 400 sq. ft. The business grew and we soon expanded and purchased other business interests in Honduras and Mexico. My wife Jan died from a Brain Aneurysm a year after we arrived in Central America. She simple had a head ache, got sick to her stomach and had trouble with her balance. Friends rushed to our home. All attempts were made to save her life. Sadly she passed. Jan is still an amazing woman in my life I feel without her sprit around me I would have died in Belize if it was not for Jan.After her death many people came and wanted to buy our business, little did they understand what we had built in those years. Most of these buyers thought I would have to return the US or Canada and start my life over. The Island of San Pedro in Belize is the kind of a place a lot of gossip and talk goes on about everyone. Jan and I seldom left our time for that.I was sued by the hospital that treated Jan. The ex pat health insurance we had purchased from a company in Florida called Bupa did not cover any of Jan’s $265,000 in medical bills. I was left to fight the case on my own.Jan and I had an American Attorney that was at that time a trusted friend. Robert P Martin of the Law firm of Bailey & Wyant a Big Law firm in West Virginia. Represented the Governor of West Virginia and this US Attorney had invested in Belize on the Island of San Pedro. Robert P Martin ran for Prosecutor last year in West Virginia. Bob was quick to run to my aid. As this story will tell in other posts and installations.I hired Attorney’s in Belize and other Central American Countries to fight the legal action against me. With the help of our trusted attorney from West Virginia Robert P Martin we prepared to win this case. The legal process is slow in Central America. Jan would have wanted me to continue my life we had talked about that. In time I met a young couple from Punta Gorda Belize Vince and Cherie Rose. They owned a resort and had an animal sanctuary called American Crocodile Sanctuary. Punta Gorda Belize had no Liquor Store. I opened one with Vince and Cherie Rose. They had a building I had the Liquor Distribution and sources figure out, seemed like the right thing to do. We called it Adiferous Wine and Liquors. I supplied the money and Cherie Rose ran the business and handled all the banking as the attached documents show. I continued to grow what Jan and I had started, expanded into Honduras and Mexico. Few on the Island of San Pedro in Belize new my business interest. I had tired of San Pedro in Belize and found refuge in other countries perhaps wanting to be free of this place and my thoughts of Jan. While I did not want to forget here the every day question of how are you doing became tiring. I sold the The Liquor Box in San Pedro to a American that owned a bar in San Pedro. He felt having a bar and The Liquor Box he could cut costs and now the Liquor Box was grossing over $1.5 million a year we made a deal.Telling the story of Jim Jensen has been told on-line from only a few sources. I feel the time has come to tell my version of the events and to support my story with documents. Something other that have talked about me never did. Only words to protect themselves.
