For sale: The San Pedro Sun by its publisher, Tamara Sniffen. This lively news publication could be all yours, you lucky people. If you purchase this little herald that roars, you will also have the honor of being the PR platform for ACES /American Crocodile Education Sanctuary.
Not only would you be the owner of a nifty little gringo-centric shopper, you could be best friends with ACES owner/operators Vince and Cherie Rose. Imagine the joy of publishing any good news they feed you. Then think about the great liberation from the truth you would be able to help maintain for them. For example, you could report on how they cut ribbons and ask for donations to help with their croc conservation work. But you could ignore sad-making stories about your "bestest friends," the Roses. For example, you could ignore, pesky little stories about how their directors decided to dissolve BEED/Belize Economic & Ecological Development Fund, their non-profit corporation that has allowed them charitable donation status. You could objectively neglect to report on which directors, when, minutes etc. That way, thanks to your non-efforts, the world would remain in the dark about how/why the decision was made to dissolve the corporation due to poor economic conditions. What? One director, James Frederick Jensen, was not consulted about the meeting or vote by BEED Fund directors to dissolve the corporation. This is the same James who is now pursuing Vince and Cherie Rose through civil action for monies owed to him. But if you were the owner of the San Pedro Sun you would not have to be concerned with the widely established rules of accountability in governance, would you? Tamara Sniffen, San Pedro Sun publisher, why are you not asking basic J-school 101 questions of Vince and Cherie Rose, owners of ACES/American Crocodile Education Sanctuary? Like why are they dissolving their non-profit corporation and with it their 501 C charitable status?Citing poor economic conditions for dissolution of BEED/Belize Economic & Ecological Development Fund is a brain clunker for sure. Where's the sense of that?Could it be that they are more interested in dissolving their accountability to directors who are no longer, shall we say, convenient? One such director is James Frederick Jensen, to whom they have not accorded shares or provided reporting, as they are obliged to under the terms of ACES' non-profit corporation (Delaware Corp #081704589-4635215).Could it be that they have an ongoing relationship with him through his civil suit, the one in which he claims the Roses owe him $50,000 BZ? As usual, Tamara, you are happy to report on slap-happy tidings for Vince and Cherie Rose. The Supreme Court ruling in their favor over the mob-fire that destroyed the sanctuary is the most recent example. Will you report on what's left for the Roses once the IRS goes into vacuum cleaning mode?Vivian Trill is the president of the Organization for Responsible Tourism.
