American Crocodile Sanctuary Org Belize - SHUT Down

American Crocodile Sanctuary Org Belize - SHUT Down

My name is James Fredrick Jensen I am a Canadian that lived in Belize on the Island of San Pedro, this another chapter of my Novella about the time that past after my Wife Janis Died in Central America in Belize.

I was surprised today to find out that the web site for American Crocodile Education Sanctuary in Belize has been shut down. The Punta Gorda Belize facility for Crocodiles has had its share of problems over the years as the story below explains.

From what I heard on line was that the Crocodile Sanctuary web site has been suspended over a NOI notice the Roses Vince and Cherie Rose had received related to there Donation web site www.americancrocodilesanctuary.org/. The Notice of infringe was related to the unauthorized use of the The Belize Economic & Ecological Development Fund logo, The BEED Fund, is an IRS approved tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) charity the Roses web site states.

Share Holders of The Belize Economic & Ecological Development Fund had asked the Rose Vince and Cherie to remove any association with the The Belize Economic & Ecological Development Fund from the web site they used to raise money for the ACES,. American Crocodile Education Sanctuary in Belize crocodile rescues, croc relocations, croc research, and croc education.

Press Release - American Crocodile Education Sanctuary - September 6, 2010 - In the early morning hours of September 5th, a frenzied mob of Mayan-Belizean villagers set fire to the American Crocodile sanctuary that a Colorado,USA couple spent the last six years creating. “We’ve lost everything,” said Cherie Chenot-Rose, co-owner and founder of the American Crocodile Sanctuary for Education (ACES). The sanctuary was located in Punta Gorda, Belize.

Luckily, Cherie and her husband Vince Rose were in San Pedro on the island of Ambergris Caye when the mob attacked. At the request of the Belize Forest Department the team were rescuing three problem crocs, and meeting with top Belize tourism officials discussing the prospect of creating an American Crocodile sanctuary on the island.

I met the Roses shortly after my wife Janis died in Belize. They were on the Island of San Pedro in Belize on a hunt for a Crocodile. Interesting meeting both of them Vince Rose was a Carpenter in Carbondale CO. Cherie Chenot-Rose Vince Roses wife is a biologist. In talking to them I found it quite a leap from a Carpenter to a Croc Ranger for Vince Rose and for Cherie Rose a greater leap from taking care of animals in small parks and zoo’s.

Hope those that have donated are okay.
