My name is James Fredrick Jensen I am a Canadian that lived in Belize on the Island of San Pedro, this is another chapter of my Novella about the time that past after my Wife Janis Died. This chapter covers my relationship with Tamara Sniffen the Publisher of the San Pedro Sun. Tamara offered the readings at my wife Jan’s service, it was heart spoken with many tears from all.
When Jan I moved to San Pedro Belize it covered the purchase of what was known on the Island of San Pedro as The Liquor Box, locals had a different phrase for it lick her box which Jan did not like so much.
After our arrival in San Pedro we started looking at marketing and more services to build the business. I still remember that day first walking into the San Pedro Sun small offices on the main street of San Pedro. Tamara was excited to find a potential new advertiser that would pay. We negotiated a deal for payment in advance. The San Pedro Sun was as one calls it the local Gringo Newspaper.
Another Newspaper existed on the island of San Pedro called Ambergris Today. This was the local newspaper for the Island. Jan and I felt it was best to do some advertising with Ambergris Today. Which we did.
Our relationship with Tamara Sniffen grew as did the The Liquor Box. I became the delivery boy and soon we had most of the Resorts in San Pedro buying from The Liquor Box. Tamara would often have drinks with Jan and Me to talk about her business and how to develop her Newspaper.
The Night Jan became ill the news spread through San Pedro quickly, friends had helped me take Jan to the Doctor that night. Jan was well liked she was known as Ms. Jan. The next morning Jan had not improved and was flown off the Island to reach Belize City to find out what was happening to her.
Before Jan was taken by medical air transport all our friends came to the doctors office. employees of the The Liquor Box were on hand. Jan was awake and alert telling everyone she was okay. Everyone was sad and walked beside the stretcher as we headed to the plane. I could see the concerned.
Tamara Sniffen was with me the night Jan died. After Jan’s death Tamara e-mailed me in the dark times and was very supportive. Hard for me to understand her motives to have written articles about me after this time. To say I had anything to do with Jan’s death considering Tamara was at the doctors office and felt the pain I had over Jan’s death I do not understand. Then again San Pedro is a place of gossip and jealousy.
