Bupa Health Care Miami - Robert P. Martin Attorney

My name is James Fredrick Jensen I am a Canadian that lived in Belize on the Island of San Pedro, this another chapter of my Novella about the time that past after my Wife Janis Died in Central America.

After my wife Jan’s passing the battle now continued with RF&G Insurance and Bupa Health Care of Miami. During this time Belize Health Partners were beginning to put pressure on me to pay the over $200,000 bill for health care services provided for Jan.

I hired a prominent Belize law firm to represent my interests in Belize and to work with Robert P. Martin of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC. Both firms worked together in an attempt to draw attention to this case and to find some response from Bupa Health Insurance out of Miami. Bupa stood fast on the opinion that Jan failed to meet the 90 day waiting period. The civil case was now left between myself and Belize Health partners.

The Civil Process in Belize follows for the most part British Law. At my first hearing in Belize city Belize Health Partners attorney Godfrey Smith made every attempt to move this case forward without success.

The court ruled that Bupa Health Care of Miami was the actual Insurance provider and that RF&G Insurance had no legal responsibility. The court also found that my wife Jan was responsible for her health care coverage from Bupa Health Insurance of Miami.

The court allowed me time to prepare a care against Bupa Health Insurance of Miami first before the supreme court in Belize would continue the case.

Robert P. Martin of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC assured me that they could handle this in the US and found an attorney named Bill Thompson of Miami that could handle the case. Bailey & Wyant, PLLC and Robert P. Martin were not licensed in Miami thus the need for Bill Thompson as the letter attached indicates was assigned to represent my case with Bupa Health Care of Miami.

While Robert P. Martin of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC worked with Bill Thompson to prepare a case in Miami against Bupa I remained in Belize and spent more time in Honduras. The case moved along at slow pace. Every few months I would have to appear as Godfrey Smith continued to attempt to push the case along in Belize. All without success which resulted in Godfrey Smith loosing his temper in these hearings.

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC appeared to be handling the case in the US. Numerous letters and documents continued to flow for months between all the attorneys involved while we waited for Bill Thompson to prepare and file the case against Bupa Health Care in Miami.
