The story now continues after I am freed from Hattieville Central Prison in Belize and I have returned to Honduras. My name is James Fredrick Jensen I am a Canadian that lived in Belize on the Island of San Pedro, this another chapter of my Novella about the time that past after my Wife Janis Died in Central America.
After my wife Jan’s passing the battle now continued with RF&G Insurance and Bupa Health Care of Miami. During this time Belize Health Partners were beginning to put pressure on me to pay the over $200,000 bill for health care services provided for Jan. Through all this day I am on the phone with Robert P. Martin of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC, is a full-service law firm who represented Jan’s interests in this matter. Meetings began with RF&G Insurance Attorneys’ Robert P. Martin of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC flew down to Belize for meeting with RF&G Insurance. The position was that RF&G Insurance was a reseller of insurance for Bupa Health care of Miami. They RF&G Insurance had not responsibility for this health care Policy from Bupa Health Care.Robert P. Martin of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC contacted Bupa Health Care of Miami only to find out that the person that would review this case was on vacation for a month. During this time Bupa Health care did ask for Jan’s past medical records. Belize Health Partners became impatient and filed legal actions against me having Godfrey Smith a prominent Belize attorney and past Attorney General of Belize to collect the money for Jan’s Health Care. After the return of the person to review Jan’s case and our insurance policy with Bupa Health Care of Miami he simply stated that Jan had fallen under the 90 day waiting period and she had no health care coverage. I hired a prominent Belize law firm to represent my interests in Belize and to work with Robert P. Martin of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC. Both firms worked together in an attempt to draw attention to this case and to find some response from Bupa Health Insurance out of Miami. Bupa stood fast on the opinion that Jan failed to meet the 90 day waiting period. The civil case was now left between myself and Belize Health partners.Vivian Trill is the president of the Organization for Responsible Tourism.
