This is part two of Diana Bond online battery of questions surrounding the case of James Frederick Jensen, a Canadian who lived in Belize, where he was cheated and discredited by WV attorney Robert P Martin and Belize residents, Vincent and Cherie Rose.
As I've said in a previous blog, the motivational details of Martin-Rose criminal actions toward my client are not at issue -- a refusal on James' part to lend money to Robert P Martin, for example -- is not the real story here. The real story is not why but what they did to James.
Here's a question that's part of the real story. How did James Frederick Jensen wind up in remand at Belize's notorious Hattieville prison in March 2009?
Here's some of the answer.
The Roses were in partnership with James in liquor business in Punta Gorda Belize. They wanted to cheat him of his share. They accused him of swindling them over a property investment in Punta Gorda. There had been no swindle and no basis for the charge.
With the help of Belize attorney Godfrey Smith, Martin and the Roses had James thrown into Hattieville prison
on remand. Subsequently, when James went before a magistrate, he was cleared of all charges. The judge advised James to leave Belize as it was clear he had powerful enemies and little protection.
The next question is: Why did the San Pedro Sun, run by publisher Tamara Sniffen, first run a story in the paper about James' arrest, but ran no follow up account of his complete innocence? How did they know of the arrest before it happened?
Anyone who has read this yellow trash publication will know that the San Pedro Sun is low on journalistic principles. This was a low even by their standards. They went on to violate further tenets of journalism and just plain decency by abetting the printing and distribution of a wanted poster for James.
The poster had a number of interesting features, notably: a $20,000 reward, put up by Robert P Martin; and accusations that James had murdered his wife. James has since published online the medical report on his wife's death, which was caused by a brain aneurysm.
It is illegal for private individuals to put up a bounty, but Robert P Martin knows that.
His name is James Fredrick Jensen a Canadian that lived in Belize on the Island of San Pedro covering the time that past after his Wife Janis Died in Central America.
